Abdul Wahid clinches overall title in MRF rally

Abdul Wahid of Team TVS riding TVS RTR 450 won the overall title in the MRF Rally of Coimbatore,the fourth round of the MRF Mo Grip FMSCI National Rally Championship for two-wheelers held here yesterday.

Bengaluru-based Wahid clocked 1 hour 2 minutes and 13 seconds to complete the challenging special stages set around the wind farms near the Kethanur (Palladam) area, some 45 km from Coimbatore.

The total distance of the route was approximately 145 kms and total distance of the special stages about 70 km for the racing organised by the Coimbatore Auto Sports. Wahid had won the opening three rounds.

R. Nataraj of Team TVS on a TVS RTR 450came overall second (1hr4min21sec), while S.D. Vishwas a privateer came third on a Yamaha 250F motorcycle (1hr 12m 01seconds).

A total of 58 riders took part in the rally.
