Actor Mansoor Ali Khan begins fast in Salem jail

Covai Post Network

Coimbatore : Tamil film actor Mansoor Ali Khan lodged in the Central Jail in nearby Salem, today began fast in protest against the eight-lane Salem-Chennai Green Corridor.

Khan was arrested on June 14 and jailed for speaking against the Government on the project and also allegedly intimidating people, which could have led to riots.

A court in Omalur in Salem district dismissed his bail petition yesterday, though it granted conditional bail to environmentalist Piyush Manush.

Khan during his protest against the Rs 10,000-crore project had allegedly threatened to hack eight persons to death if the Government went ahead with it.
