Additional train between Mettupalayam and Coimbatore

Catering to increased travel demands, the Southern Railways has introduced a new train Coimbatore-Mettupalayam through train.
In a release, the Salem Division of the Southern Railways has stated that the Coimbatore Mettupalayam Special Passenger train number 06152 would leave Coimbatore by 11 am and reach Mettupalayam by 11.55 am.
Mettupalayam Coimbatore Special Passenger train number 06153 would leave Mettupalayam Junction by 12.15 pm and reach Coimbatore Junction by 01.30 pm.
The passenger train will run on all days except Sundays; a trail run starts from September 27, with 10 general unreserved second class-day coaches and two luggage-cum-break vans.
It would run as a trial for three months and would have stoppages at Coimbatore North, Periyanaickenpalayam and Karamadai.
The release added that the decision to run the additional fifth train was taken after the recent visit of Railway Minister Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu to Coimbatore, where a request was made to him.
