Adventure camp for kids concludes at MRC

COIMBATORE: A 10-day summer adventure camp for children organised by Madras Regiment Centre (MRC) at Wellington concluded on Friday.

The main aim of this adventure camp, which began on May 16, was to develop spirit of adventure and social awareness in children to make them a better human being and a responsible citizen.

A total of 110 children from different parts of the Country attended the camp and participated in various adventure activities including rock climbing, horse riding, air rifle and pistol shooting, trekking and boating, an official release said on Saturday.

In addition, the students conducted Village Seva (cleanliness campaign) in the Jagathala Village near Aruvankadu and extended their service for a day in ‘Little Sister’ Old Age Home at Coonoor.

The children also participated in a tree plantation drive at Wellington as part of environment protection, the release said.
