Alert man prevents theft of gold chain

An attempt to rob a man of his 50-gram gold chain was prevented by the alert owner who raised an alarm.
According to police, Arulanantham, a resident of Singanallur, was walking near the PSG Hospital on Avinashi Road.
Suddenly he felt a hand in the bag he was carrying. He noticed a man trying to take away the chain, worth Rs. 1.25 lakhs, from the bag.
When Arulanantham raised an alarm, the miscreant tried to escape. Passersby chased him and caught him.
He was handed over the police. The miscreant was identified as Sivakumar.
