All India Basketball Tournament Indian Bank Team wins Prestigious PSG Trophy

Coimbatore, August 13, 2024: The 58th PSG Trophy All India Basketball Tournament Men, organized by PSG Sports Club, concluded today at the PSG Tech Indoor Stadium, Peelamedu Coimbatore.

Eight Leading teams, including Chennai – Income Tax, Chennai – Indian Bank, Bengaluru – Bank of Baroda, New Delhi – Central Secretariat, New Delhi – Indian Army, New Delhi – Indian Railway, Kerala – Kerala State Electricity Board and Chennai – Loyola College, battled it out in the tournament.

The Final match, held on 13 August 2024, evening at 6.00 pm, featured a thrilling contest between New Delhi – Indian Army Vs Chennai Indian Bank. In a closely contested game, the Indian Bank team emerged victorious with a score of 71 – 66.

Earlier, the Third and Fourth place match took place between Central Secretariat Vs Indian Railway team, with the Indian Railway team securing a win with a score of 81 – 70.

The tournament concluded with a prize distribution ceremony. Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati I.A.S, graced the event as the special guest and presented the awards, while PSG Educational Institutions Managing Trustee Mr. L. Gopalakrishnan, presided over the ceremony.

The champion, Indian Bank team was awarded the first prize of Rs.1 lakh and the PSG Trophy. The Runner-Up, Indian Army team, received a prize of Rs.75 thousand and a trophy. The Third-Place team, Indian Railway, took home Rs.50 thousand, and the fourth-place team, Central Secretariat, received Rs.25 thousand. Additionally, the best player, Indian Bank Team Mr. Pranav Praveen, was honored with a special prize of Rs.10 thousand.
