An all party delegation, comprising leaders and workers, has decided to visit Mukkali, the place where the Kerala Government has proposed to construct a check dam across Siruvani. It would inspect the site on September 1.

Talking to reporters after an all party meeting here, Thanthai Periyar Dravida Kazhakam (TPDK) general secretary K. Ramakrishnan said.

that Kerala Government’s move has created unrest among the farmers and the general public, as it would deprive them of water for drinking

and irrigation purposes in three districts in the region.

“The representatives will inspect the area even if police deny permission,” he said.

The members would form a human chain in the city on September 8 and picket trains to draw the Centre’s attention seeking its intervention on the issue.
