Tension prevailed on Mettupalayam road in the city today, following an altercation between a Government bus crew and an individual over parking the bus, resulting in disruption of traffic for a while.

The trouble started, when a person, identified as Deenadayal entered into argument with the bus driver, Manikandan, who stopped the bus at Saibaba Temple stop, dangerously close to Deenadayal, who was sitting on his two-wheeler on the roadside, police said.

This resulted into an argument even as public and crew of some other government buses joined and sided with both the parties, resulting in tense moments, police said.

This led to traffic block.Police however managed to convince and disperse both of them.

Deenadayal eventually lodged a complaint alleging that Manikandan had assaulted him, and Manikandan got admitted to hospital, accusing Deenadayal of hitting him. Further investigations are on, they said.
