Around 100 students participated in the ‘Augmented and Virtual Reality’ workshop, which started today at the Coimbatore Institute Of Technology, Peelamedu.

The two-day event is organised by Anna University, Chennai, as part of the International Techno Management fest,’ Kurukshetra- The battle of brains’, which will be held in Chennai from February 1 to 4.

Jaffar Sherrif, student director of the Xceed team, which is the organising committee of the fest, said, “During the fest, we have such workshops but colleges from nearby districts are not able to stay on for them, which is why we have brought it here. We hope more college students can benefit of such workshops, which we will also take to Trichy and neighbouring states.”

On December 18, a Map your Location workshop will have exhibits on spatial data analysis. There will also be a ‘Battle of Bots’ competition in which participants can make their own robots to solve world issues like pollution. The winner will be awarded Rs 1 lakh.
