Athupalam-Oppanakara street flyover work commences

Coimbatore: State Municipal Administration Minister, S P Velumani today performed pooja for the 1.25 KM long flyover connecting Aathupalam and Oppanakara Street, a major traffic congested areas in the city.

Speaking at the function, Velumani said that of the Rs.216 crore, Rs.88 crore were earmarked for compensation for acquisition and infrastructure and the remaining Rs.127 crore for construction of flyover.

Chief Minister, Edapadi Palanisamy had laid foundation stone for the flyover on March six and likely to be completed in 30 months.

The flyover will connect four main roads of the city and also the Highway linking Palakkad in Kerala and Pollachi in the State and ease traffic congestion on Madurai and Dindigul routes, he said.
