Attempt to loot bank fails

A half-baked attempt was made to loot the Valparai branch of Repco Bank on Sunday, when the bank was closed.
The robbery attempt came to light when some workers of a textile shop in the commercial complex where the bank is located, noticed its front door open. They immediately alerted the branch manager, who in turn, informed the police.
The police rushed to the spot and found that the CCTV and burglar alarm were disconnected. The miscreants, armed with gas cutter, were unable to open the strong chest, where the cash was kept.
Fingerprint experts were brought in and investigations are currently on.
