Attempts to distribute money foiled

Election Department officials and police today foiled the attempts reportedly by the ruling AIADMK workers to bribe voters at two places in the rural limits in the district.

On an information that money is being distributed among villagers, police rushed to Pogalur near Annur, about 30 kms from here, police said.

However, seeing police, the party workers managed to escape, they said.

Similarly, some workers belonging to AIADMK were distributing money, Rs.300 per vote, in an estate area in Valparai.

However, they took to heels, after seeing election officials approaching
them, police added.
