Avinashilingam University celebrates it 27th convocation

The Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women celebrated its 27th convocation. This time, 65 Ph. D candidates, 71 M. Phils, 337 Post Graduates, and 1494 Under-Graduates received their degrees.
“I have a dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal. The sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. People will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character”. Padma Shri Dr. P.R. Krishna Kumar, Chancellor, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, said, quoting Martin Luther King’s famous lines. He was addressing the parents and students at the convocation.
The university’s Vice Chancellor Dr. Premavathy Vijayan welcomed the gathering. In her address she commended the achievements and the laurels brought to the University. She wished the students to become innovators, inventors and discoverers in the days to come.
