Coimbatore – World Sight Day, observed annually on the second Thursday of October, is a global event meant to draw attention to blindness and vision impairment, to focus on the importance of eye care. It was originally initiated by the Sight First Campaign of Lions Club International Foundation in 2000.

This World Sight Day, our focus is on helping people understand the importance of protecting their vision in their workplace. This year, we are calling on all employers (Industrialist, Institutions both Govt. sectors and Pvt. Sectors) to join us in helping people prioritise their eye health, and calling on business leaders to ensure eye care is accessible, inclusive and available to workers everywhere.

Vasan Eye Care Hospital – RS Puram Branch, took an initiative of creating this awareness for the general public with support from Rotary Club of Coimbatore City through a public awareness rally, with the help of SNS College students and Vasan eye care staff.

The rally is set to take place on 11th October, 2023 @ 9:30 A.M. with Hon. K. Shanmugam B.E. Dy. Commissioneer of Police – South Coimbatore gracing the occasion as Chief Guest. Vasan Eye Care is offering free eye check-up for all working professionals across Govt. and private sectors on behalf of world sight day till 15th November, 2023. Private employees can show their ID card at our screening center to avail free eye check-up.
