Baby elephant falls into well

Efforts are on to lift an elephant from a 40-foot deep well near Periyanaickenpalayam in the outskirts.
The 10-year old pachyderm strayed into the Kovanur village, some 30 km from here, in search of water and accidentally fell into the well, police said.
Forest department officials arrived at the village and were taking efforts to rescue the elephant with the help of fire and rescue department officials, they said.
