Bariatric surgeon President of IEF

A city-based bariatric surgeon has assumed charge as President of Indian Chapter of International Excellence Federation (IEF).
Dr. Praveen Raj, Head of Bariatric Surgery, Gem Hospital here, was elected as the President at the two-day International Congress in Bariatric Surgery held in Chennai recently.
The Federation has more than 70 centres of excellence, with 20 in India alone, a hospital release said today.
The Federation aims to standardize bariatric surgery in India and also identify centres of excellence by establishing ones that be on a par with those in other countries.
