Barking deer carcass, gun seized, 5 held

The carcass of a barking deer, a country-made gun and some cartridges were seized from five persons near Gudalur yesterday.
Forest officials said that their personnel acted on a tip off, intercepted two cars and searched them. They found the carcass of the barking deer, a country-made gun and 12 cartridges.
Mohammed Rafiq and Mohammed Subain from Manjeri in Kerala and Ramesh, Mani and Kuttan from the district were arrested, they said.
