Bharathiar University honours its first woman IAS officer

Bharathiar University, based in Coimbatore, has felicitated its first woman I.A.S officer, who has taken charge as the District Collector in Maharashtra recently.

C. Vanmathi, who did her I.A.S training in Bharathiar University’s Anna I.A.S Academy, secured 152nd rank in All India Civil Services examination conducted by the U.P.S.C. She is the first I.A.S officer to be selected from the university.

After completion of her basic and I.A.S Phase I and II training at Lalbhadur Shastri National Academy of Administration at Mussorie, Dehradoon, on June 10, she was chosen as part of the Maharashtra state cadre.

In appreciation, the university organized a felicitation function at the campus, in which Vice Chancellor, A. Ganapathi; and Academy Coordinator, M. Padmanabhan, presented a memento to Vanmathi.
