Coimbatore : Condemning the remarks by Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy seeking a discussion on Cauvery issue, BJP Tamil Nadu president Tamilisai Soundararajan today said that no political party in the State had raised objection to this.

“The remarks are fit to be condemned and also the statement that he (Kumaraswamy) will approach the court, if a discussion on Cauvery Management Board is not held,” Tamilisai told reporters here.

Political parties in Tamil Nadu failed to condemn the remarks, she said adding that this was the right time for DMK working president M K Stalin, who is protesting against all developmental projects by the Centre, to carry out a padayatra to Bengaluru.

Even film actor Kamal Haasan has gone and thanked the Chief Minister, she said, adding that it was not important to get recognition from Election Commission, but should get etched in the minds of the people.

She also took dig at political parties who never lauded the Centre for bringing the projects like AIIMS to the State and also solving the vexatious Cauvery issue.

On the gutka scam, Tamilisai said it had begun 10 to 15 year ago and both the DMK and the AIADMK should be probed thoroughly. However, she denied the role of any Central Minister in the scam.

Congress was making baseless charges against party national president Amit Shah with regard to the banned note issue, Tamilisai said.
