Coimbatore : What Congress and DMK failed to do with regard to the Cauvery water issue all these years, would be successfully done by BJP and Tamil Nadu would get water, BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan said here today.

The BJP was taking constructive steps with regard to the Cauvery and would fight for the cause and get the Tamil Nadu its rightful share, she told reporters here.

Condemning the statements allegedly made by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah that his State would not allow the constitution of Cauvery Management Board and proceed with construction of Mekedatu dam, Tamilisai sought to know why TNCC president S Thirunavukarasu and DMK working president, M K Stalin were silent on the issue and not condemning it.

While BJP wanted to find a legal solution, the agitation by other parties were just an eyewash, she said, adding that both Congress and DMK were indulged in contempt of court About theChief Minister sitting on fast on the issue, she said that everyone had the right to do so.

Accusing MPs from Tamil Nadu for not daring to resign as per the norms, Tamilisai said that if they were so emotional about the issue, they should submit their resignations.
