A 44-year old brain dead lawyer today gave new lease of life to four persons, as his vital organs was transplanted on them in different city hospitals.

R. Milton Anand, a lawyer and resident of Ganapati here, fell unconscious suddenly on November 27. He was rushed to Sri Ramakrishna Hospital where he was diagnosed with Grade IV Aneurysm due to high blood pressure. After first aid, he was shifted to KMCH for specialised treatment on the same day.

As he did not respond despite medical management, doctors declared him brain dead yesterday, a KMCH release said today.

Even at the time of grief, his family members came forward to donate Anand’s organs. A team of doctors harvested liver, eyes and skin this afternoon, the release added.

The liver was transplanted at KMCH, while skin and eyes were sent to other private hospitals.
