Calf dies in tiger attack

A one-month old calf, which was attacked by a tiger a few days back, died today in Valparai in the district.

The cow calf was found lying dead early today near Kadamparai Waterfall Estate and workers informed forest department officials, who rushed to the spot, department sources said.

The veterinarian, Manohar, who performed post porterm, found a deep wound on the forehead of the calf, inflicted by the nails of tiger, indicating that it was attacked by the carnivore, they said.

Calf died after the wound got septic.
