In a major haul, Rs.1.34 crore, being taken to Kerala illegally, was seized from two persons on a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus in the city bus stand today.

The seizure was made during the intensified vehicle checks at the city bus stand in the early hours by the election department and police officials, reportedly to prevent money being taken for bribing the voters.

The amount was kept in two bags, each containing Rs. 67 lakh and the duo, going to Kerala, were taken into custody for questioning, as there were no proper documents for carrying the money, police said.

The amount would be released if they are able to produce the documents, police added.
