CB-CID takes over Pollachi sexual harassment case

Coimbatore : Tamil Nadu CB-CID on Wednesday took over the investigation of sensitive Pollachi sexual harassment case from the rural police here.
CB-CID IG, Sridhar and special officer Nisha Parthiban arrived in the city this morning and held discussions with Superintendent of Police, R Pandiarajan and other senior officials and took over all the related documents.
Later talking to reporters, IG Sridhar said that it was decided to take all the four accused into CB-CID custody for interrogation, as part of the investigation, which began this morning..
The special teams will review the documents provided by the local police and investigation will cover all the aspects, he said.
Assuring a fair and transparent investigation, Sridhar said that efforts will be take to complete the investigation at the earliest without any bias.
Four persons were arrested in connection with the case in which a 19-year old girl was reportedly stripped and blackmailed for money and harassed using a video.
Nagaraj, a local functionary of ruling AIADMK, had earlier been expelled from the party for his involvement in the case.
