Celebrities queue up to cast their votes; film shootings cancelled

Thanks to the cancellation of all the shootings today, film stars lined up to vote at various polling booths all over Chennai. Most of them preferred to cast their votes early in the morning.

Rajnikanth and Ajith were among the first to cast their votes at their respective booths. Vishal, the general secretary of the Nadigar Sangham cast his vote in Anna Nagar. While talking to the media, he congratulated Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Lakhoni for his fight against corrupt practices in elections.

The Tamil film industry today announced the cancellation of all shootings. All the movie theatres in the city too had cancelled their noon and matinee shows in order to not distract the voters.

Among the celebrities who cast their votes today were Vijay, Sivakarthikeyan, Karthi, Sivakumar, Arvind Swamy, Vivek, Bhaskar, Trisha, Sneha, Meena, actress-politician Kushboo, and directors Sundar C and K.S. Ravikumar.
