Agitated by the death of his three-year-old daughter, a man reportedly broke one of the glass window panel in the ICU at a private hospital here on Wednesday.

According to police, parents of S Dheepa Shri from Chettipalayam, admitted her to the Child Trust Hospital near Trichy Road for high fever and severe cough. However today, failing to respond to treatment, Dheepa reportedly succumbed to pneumonia.

Claiming that she died after wrong treatment, the parents along with her relatives protested in front of the hospital. They further alleged that the hospital did not accept the demonetised Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes, which further reportedly delayed the treatment for the child.

Following the incident, Dheepa’s father Sivakumar got into a heated argument with the doctors in the hospital and reportedly broke one of the window panels in the ICU.

The family was later pacified by police and Sivakumar was taken to Singanallur Police Station for further inquiry.
