Children too contribute to flood relief

Motivated by relief work and saddened by the suffering of many affected by the floods in Chennai and Cuddalore, school children, today, came forward to do their mite. A bag with eatables, clothes and a Demand Draft for Rs. 2,500 was what they brought and handed over at the District Collector’s office.

S. Lakshmi Vishnu, Standard VIII student, came along with six of his friends from Vincent Matriculation School, and Gopal Naidu Matriculation School to hand over the relief materials.

The students said: “We saw on television the plight of many children. They did not have food to eat and clothes to wear. We collected money, clothes and food from schools near our area.”

“Everyone should come forward and contribute what they can,” S.Lakshmi Vishnu said.
