Residents of Mayflower Palm Grove apartments were given cloth bags for practicing ‘No Dumping – My Waste My Responsibility’ that was launched on November 23.

As part of the program residents segregate the waste in their homes and it is then collected by the ‘No dumping’ logistic.

According to Rajalakshmi, a volunteer, “For the last 10 months members of the ‘No Dumping’ team have conducted several workshops to the people and students. The idea of ‘My Waste My Responsibility’ is infused in minds of people through Habit Orientation Workshop (HOW) that teaches residents how to dispose the waste in sensible manner so that the waste becomes resource.”

T. Krishnaveni, resident of Srivari apartments said: “Segregation of waste is is easy to follow and it will help reduce the waste.”

No Dumping – My Waste My Responsibility is a joint initiative by Young Entrepreneurs, NGOs and Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation under Swachh Bharat Mission to spread awareness about waste segregation and management among people.
