Coimbatore based NGO & City Hospital organize Rally to create awareness about Diabetic Retinopathy

Round Table India and Coimbatore SPARK Round Table 323, in association with Madurai Eye Centre, RS Puram, organized a rally to create awareness about diabetic retinopathy at R.S.Puram on Sunday.

The rally held on the theme ‘Prevent Blindness due to Diabetes’, saw participation from more than 200 volunteers, including people affected by diabetic retinopathy. The rally passed through D.B. Road to the Burial Grounds and back to Madurai Eye Centre.

It was flagged off by Lmf. Tr. Ashwini (Vice Chairman, Coimbatore SPARK Round Table 323) at Madurai Eye Centre.
Dr. Nithin K. Srinivasan, Retinal Surgeon at Madurai Eye Centre, spoke about diabetic retinopathy, a serious complication of diabetes that starts with blurry vision and, if not detected early, can lead to complete vision loss. He stressed the need for early detection and treatment to prevent complications from diabetic retinopathy.

Lmf. Tr. Ashwini emphasized the commitment of Round Table India and Coimbatore SPARK Round Table 323 to the betterment of society. They welcomed the initiative of spreading awareness about diabetic retinopathy and assured that Round Table India will continue promoting and participating in all such causes that help improve society.
