Coimbatore Jallikkattu postponed by one week

Coimbatore : The Jallikkattu, taming of the bulls, scheduled to be held here on February 10 has been postponed by one week.

Being organised by the District Administration in association with Coimbatore Jallikkattu Peravai, the event to be held at Chettipalayam on L and T Bypass, will now be held on February 17, an official release said today.

State Municipal Administration Minister, S P Velumani had laid the foundation for the event on January 26 and the preparations, including the arena and gallery, were going on full swing.

Over 600 bulls and 700 tamers are expected to participate in the event.
