Coimbatore sets world record in recycling

The Coimbatore City Corporation has set a new Guinness World Record by holding the ‘Largest Recycling Session,’ which taught the participants how to segregate, reuse and recycle the wastes.

City Mayor P. Rajkumar inaugurated the event, which was attended by District Collector Archana Patnaik, Corporation Commissioner K. Vijayakarthikeyan, and Police Commissioner A.K. Viswanathan. About 13,487 persons, including women and students, participated in the session. They took an oath that they would reduce, reuse, and recycle the wastes, and segregate the wastes as organic, inorganic and hazardous.
