Round Table India and Ladies Circle Indiain Coimbatore, called shortly as Coimbatore City Tables and Circles organizedClock Tower Day celebration on Wednesday at Clock Tower premises in Vadakovai,Mettupalayam Road, aligning with the Round Table of India Week 2024 (11.11.24to 17.11.24).
During this entire week, Tablers and Circlers will involve invarious social activities such as tree-planting, blood donation, artificiallimb-donation etc.
Mayor of Coimbatore, R.Ranganayaki joined the celebration asthe Chief Guest, while Tr.Ragulan Shekar, Area 7 Chairman, Round Table Indiaparticipated as the Guest of Honor. Aishwarya Gupta, Chairperson, Ladies CircleArea; Arun, Chairman of Round Table of India Area 20 and Tablers and Circlersof Area 7 attended the program.
The clock tower was first inaugurated in 30th of December1994 by Round Tables of Coimbatore City to mark the national annual generalmeeting of Round Table India here. It was renovated in 2019 with many modernand technologically advanced features by the Round Tables of the city.
Round Table India (RTI) and Ladies Circle India (LCI) holdutmost importance to building school blocks under their signature and long-termproject called ‘Freedom Through Education’. RTI has 350 chapters and LCI has 200chapters across India.
Highlighting about their recent accomplishments, the NGOssaid that in the last 26 years, 9272 classrooms have been built in 3782 schoolsacross India to the tune of Rs. 485 crore. Through this more than 1 crorestudents have been benefitted.
R.Ranganayaki, Mayor of Coimbatore congratulated the NGOs forgiving significant importance to education through their Freedom ThroughEducation project. She said that the Dravidian Model Government in Tamil Nadugives utmost priority to education; hence the Coimbatore Corporation wouldsupport the NGOs in all their activities that are related to education.
Earlier on Tuesday, Round Tables and Ladies Circles fromCoimbatore, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Pollachi, Calicut, Cochin, and Ranchicontributed 240 limbs to those in need. On this occasion, 12 beneficiaries fromin and around Coimbatore received artificial limbs.
The Artificial Limb Centre, with its 38-year legacy run byCoimbatore City Round Table 31 and Coimbatore City Ladies Circle 16, has beentransforming lives by restoring mobility and independence. Located in Puramnear the Ladies Club, this center stands as a beacon of support and service,offering life-changing assistance to those in need. On this occasion blood donors wererecognized for their invaluable service by Tabler Manoj, Principal Parimala andRegional Director, Dept of Education Rajendran. Area Chairman Raghulan Shekar,Area Chairperson Aishwarya Gupta, National Secretary Vishnu Prabhakaran werethe chief guests for the event. Convenor of the Artificial Limb Centre ArihantParikh, Chairman Lakshmiganth, Chairperson Vidhya, along with city TableChairmen and Chairpersons were present.
