The Coimbatore School of Music Choir, on Monday, organised a special musical concert of traditional hymns and songs to celebrate the 70th Independence Day at the YWCA Hall, here in the city.

According to a release from the organisers, themed ‘God Bless India,’ the concert also consisted of a mixture of songs, both solo and group.

The choir was conducted by Professor J.S. Kennedy, with Donald Ephraim on the keyboard.

Songs including ‘The Flowers, The Sunset and The Trees,’ were rendered by Coimbatore’s very own Jim Reeves and Solomon Joel.

“Sarah Stephen, a young student also sang a solo and gave musical feast to the audience,” the release read.
