The 3rd Edition of Valve Technology Conclave 2016 scheduled on May 27, will focus on the need to build the foundation and make plans for a bigger share in the Global footprint.

When it comes to buying valves from India, not many go beyond the conventional sizes upto 24 inches and the Country has the potential to tap the high tech valves and the conclave will discuss whether India was geared to make these valves here, the Event Chairman, Ramesh Babu told reporters here today.

Stating that Indian valve industry over the last decade has grown on an average of 10 per cent and clocked a revenue of 1.5 billion US Dollars annually, Ramesh Babu said that about 600 million dollars of this revenue was from exports to various countries across the globe.

Almost all global valve majors have either a manufacturing facility or a back office for providing engineering and purchase support in India, in which Coimbatore has a significant presence, with a business contribution of Rs.1,000 crore, he said.

The biennial conclave, organised by local chapter of CII, would deliberate about the must haves to move up the value chain, he said.

US-based Cameron International vice president supply chain, Peter S Eichler and L and T Valves Ltd Chief executive, N V Venkatasubhramanian will address the inaugural session, which will also have an exposition displaying various products and services of select companies from the industry, he said.
