Coimbatore City Police and Railway Police have traced the identity of a corpse that was lying without head on the railway track near Saibaba Colony here.

Police on Friday (15.04.2016) found the corpse of a 55-year old man on the railway track with his head and hands severed.

Investigations revealed that the man was Arumugam, a cloth seller from Salem.

Police sources claimed that Arumugam could have died after slipping from the moving train while travelling on the steps of the train.

While his head was found near a private hospital half a km away from where his body was found, his hands were not to be found on the spot.
