Couple, driver die in car-lorry collision near Tirupur

Coimbatore : A couple and their driver were killed when their car collided with a rice-laden lorry near Vellakoil in nearby Tirupur district in the early hours of the day.
According to police, Ramachandran (48) from Tiruchirapalli and running a medical shop in Hassan in Karnataka was going to his native place Thiruvarankurichi, along with wife Jayalakshmi (44) when the mishap occurred.
The car collided with the lorry proceeding to Kerala, resulting in the spot death of Ramachandran, who was driving the car, his driver Praveen (30) sitting on his side and Jayalakshmi (44) in the rear seat around 3 AM. The bodies were sent to Kangeyam Government Hospital
for post mortem.
