Coimbatore : A district court here on Thursday ordered CBI to further investigate the suicide case of DSP Vishnupriya and file a report in six months.

The order was issued on the affidavit filed by Vishnupriya’s father Ravi against the closure reports by CBI. He sought a thorough investigation and interrogation of her colleagues and witnesses. He asserted that Vishnupriya was forced to commit suicide, following high pressure from senior officials.

Tiruchengode DSP Vishnupriya was found hanging at her residence in Namakkal district on September 18, 2015, and CBI had submitted its report in April last. It said there was no evidence of murder or foul play and it was a clear case of suicide based on which the court had closed the matter.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Nagarajan dismissed the closure report and ordered a thorough investigation, with all the documents available, including phone conversations and other communications.

Ravi later when outside the court named a particularly police official who harassed his daughter.
