Cricketing legend Sachin to attend Isha Gramotsavam function

Over the past one month 640 teams consisting of 7,680 players from various districts in Tamil Nadu participated in the Isha rejuvenation games, which were conducted as an effort towards reviving rural spirit.

Matches like kabbadi, volleyball and throw ball for women were conducted for awarding the Isha Rejuvenation Cup. Youngsters to elders, including housewives participated in this event.

Traditional martial art forms like uriadi, silambattam and valluku maram were also conducted as a part of the rejuvenation cup.

This was an effort by Isha Foundation to lower stress levels, and distract the rural population from addictions like cigarette smoking and alcohol consumption.

Final matches will be conducted from 10 a.m. on Friday, after which where cricketing legend

Sachin Tendulkar will attend valedictory the function to distribute prizes to the winners.

Talking to presspersons about the visit, Swami Prabodha of Isha Foundation said that Gramotsavam was conducted to enjoy the spirit of the game, the competition and collaboration. He said Sachin would attend the event along with Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev tomorrow at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex.

He added that more than 50,000 people would witness the grand finale. College and school students

have already registered their names in large numbers.
