COIMBATORE: Panic gripped the residential area near Amaravati Dam in Tirupur district, as a crocodile entered the habitat on Sunday evening.
According to police, the dam, near Udumalpet, has a large number of crocodiles and one of them climbed up and strayed into the human habitats, resulting in panic situation among the residents.
On information, forest officials rushed to the spot and tried to catch it, but they could not due to darkness. However, they managed to catch it with ropes and released to the dam on Monday morning.
