Cyclist run over by truck

A 24-year-old cyclist from West Bengal was killed on the spot when a truck ran over him near Selakarichal on Saturday.

According to sources, the deceased, R. Puskar from Darjeeling, West Bengal, was working for daily wages near Pappampatty. On Saturday, Puskar was riding his bicycle near Selakarichal on Palladam to Pappampatty Road while a truck, with Kerala registration, hit him from behind and ran over him.

Puskar was immediately rushed to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH), but he had succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

The Sulur Police has registered a case against the truck driver, V. Ranjith (24) from Kozhikode, Kerala.
