Debt-ridden woman commits suicide

A 35-year-old woman, who had borrowed money from a women’s Self Help Group near Pollachi, committed suicide by hanging, on Saturday.
According to sources, the deceased R. Revathy, wife of S. Ramakrishnan (44), was a resident of Kunjipalayam in Pollachi. She had borrowed Rs.75000 from a women’s Self Help Group some months ago.
Unable to return the money, Revathy had reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her home, early on Saturday. A case has been registered with the Pollachi Sub Division police. Investigations are on.
