Detainee dies of chest pain in prison

An accused detained under the Goondas Act and lodged in the central jail, died of chest pain today.
Shaktivel, a native of Bhavani in Erode district, was involved in a number of criminal activities. He was detained by the police under the Goondas Act. While in prison, he developed chest pain and was admitted to the jail hospital.
After first aid, he was shifted to the Government Hospital in Coimbatore, but he died en route. Police are investigating
