Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore, along with the ICT Academy of Tamilnadu (ICTACT), organized a hands-on Digital Literacy workshop as part of the Prime Minister’s Digital India programme. More than hundred non-teaching staff of the institutions under the SNR & Sons Trust participated in this programme.

Coimbatore is a tier-two city, but boasts of an excellent internet penetration rate. Corporate houses in Coimbatore regularly organise workshops to train their staff to adopt technology.

The non-teaching employees were introduced to the various digital technologies that are used in the corporate world. They were also given hands-on training on accessing Government services on the digital platform, filling online forms like passport, and applying for PAN card online. They were also trained on how to use the various word processing concepts like creating, saving, closing, editing, formatting word documents, inserting headers and footers, working with tables, creating a resume, making a brochure, creating a business card, writing a letter, and creating an invitation card.
