‘Aroh’ NGO came into being in May 2013. As part of their third anniversary celebrations, this non-profit organisation has begun the ‘donate a gift’ scheme. According to this scheme, the public can donate to Aroh the value of the gifts that they receive on their birthdays and on special occasions. The individual can refuse to take the gift. Instead he can request the person who intends to give him the gift to donate the value of the gift to NGO Aroh.

Founder of this NGO, Bindu N. shares that ever since they have made an announcement of this scheme, the NGO has already received cash for the gift given to a person on his birthday. The founder and volunteers of Aroh are positive that ‘donate a gift’ will work well with the public.

Aroh NGO continues to provide care and support to children with cancer and their families. This organisation has tied up with various hospitals in the city. Aroh volunteers visit the hospitals on a regular basis and identify the children and families that require assistance and help. Volunteers of Aroh also visit the homes of children with cancer. During these visits, the family is educated about the importance of personal hygiene.
