Double life sentence for father who killed two daughters

Mahila Court here today sentenced a man to double life for killing his two girl children under the influence of liquor some 18 months ago.
The prosecution case was that Rajan, aged 35, an alcoholic, used to pick up quarrel with his wife often.
On February 23, 2014, Rajan, after picking up a quarrel with his wife, strangulated his two daughters – aged five and two – to death, and took away the bodies in a bag to bury it.
Rajan managed to escape abandoning the bag when public questioned him about it.
He was arrested four days later and the case was going on in the Mahila Court.
Delivering the judgement, Judge, N. Sarvamangala sentenced Rajan to double life term
for killing the children, which would run concurrently.
