Driver found dead in his car

Mystery surrounds the death of a driver, whose body was found in his car parked on Thadagam Road in Coimbatore early today.

Some of the passersby and morning joggers noticed the driver in the car, lying motionless in the vehicle and informed police when they grew suspicious.

A police team, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Nisha Parthiban, arrived at the scene, accompanied by fingerprint experts and a sniffer dog. Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was Ethiraj, the owner-driver of the car. He was a native of Udhagamandalam.

Ethiraj had left Udhagamandalam yesterday at 5.30 PM from the Charing Cross taxi stand, investigations revealed.

The body was sent for post mortem to the government hospital.
