With carrying of original driving licence becoming mandatory from tomorrow, Tourist Taxi Drivers and Owners Association on Thursday urged the office of the Police Commissioner to take steps to get their licenses, which are in the possession of the owners.

In a petition to the Commissioner, Dr. A. Amalraj, the association said that the car owners take the original licenses from them, for security reasons, while employing them.

“Since the rule to carry the original license coming into force tomorrow, the drivers should get back their licenses to avoid penalty,” the association said.

A few members, who met Amalraj, sought his immediate intervention in this regard.
