Educomp Solutions Ltd, pioneers of Smartclass Education in the country, today launched its SmartSTEM, a new interdisciplinary approach in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The SmartsSTEM has brought a whole new perspective to science and mathematics by evolving and embracing a learning mechanism that was globally recognized and followed–STEM Education, Educomp State Business head, Roshni Nair, told reporters on the sidelines of the launch here.

SmartSTEM is a unique teaching tool that focuses on mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology, she said. “This unique blend of technology is with traditional teaching methods, in which the teacher-lead tool enables-in-depth learning for students via 3D animations, 3D inter activities and simulations,” Roshni added.

Stating that the concept was introduced at a conclave in which 50 principals of leading schools in the city attended to jointly discuss problems and possible solutions, she said that STEM education is a concept-driven approach that strengthens a student’s analytical skills and problem-solving abilities. “The mechanism was conceptualised, considering that 2.8 million jobs in the next two years will be based on Stem education,” Roshni claimed.

The concept, which was officially launched in the city, is to be introduced in schools in Chandigarh, with an aim to make experiential learning of science and mathematics both fun and insightful, she said On target schools, Roshni said that nearly 16,000 private schools in the country were using Educomp’s Smartclass and large chunk of these schools was expected to avail this facility.
