Election Commission seizes 1.6 kilo gold

Officials of the Election Commission today seized nearly 1.6 kg of gold ornaments which were being taken to Kerala, without valid documents. The ornaments were seized in the rural limits of Kinathukadavu.
The officials, led by Assistant Election Officer Ramasamy, carried out vehicle check in the area and seized the gold ornaments, including some gold coins, in a car that was on its way to Kerala.
The persons travelling in the car could not produce valid papers for the ornaments, following which the gold was seized and handed over to district treasury.
