Elephant found dead near Karadimadai

A male elephant was found dead in a village near Karadimadai on the outskirts in the wee hours of today.
The carcass was noticed by villagers who informed forest department officials in Madukkarai Division.
The officials rushed to the spot and recovered the body. The reason for the death of pachyderm, about 20 years in appearance, will be known only after post mortem, they said.
